In this TMDHosting review, the features, attributes, advantages, and disadvantages will be examined. You will receive examples of three of their six hosting platform plans. Established for more than a decade, TMDHosting has expanded rapidly over that time and has become a major player in the industry. For customers around the world, TMDHosting represents a fast, simple, and reliable hosting platform for their needs. They started off as a typical small hosting company. TMD set up an office in Orlando, Florida. There were only four full-time employees at the beginning. Today there are over 70 as the company continues to grow in its service to their customers.
In celebrating over a decade of service since being established in 2007, TMDHosting has worked its way up the ladder of success. Today, the company host web platforms from customers around the world. The current plans are to further expand the reach of the company.
TMDHosting offers a wide range of services. Over the years they’ve developed a strong reputation for what they provide. They have proven to be solid, if not spectacular, based on their performance over time. The company currently offers six different hosting plans with tier packages designed for those who are just starting out up to large corporations. The different hosting plans include the following;
- Web
- Cloud
- WordPress
- VPS
- Reseller
- Dedicated Servers
What follows is a quick overview of three of the six hosting plans that TMDHosting offers. Each of these plans offers different tier packages that have their own attributes and restrictions depending on the needs of your website and ability to expand.
TMDHosting Review: Shared Plans
At TMDHosting, you will find three shared web hosting plans. Shared hosting plans in general are less expensive. The same goes for the reasonably priced shared plans that TMD offers. Shared hosting means that the servers used to hold your website are also being used by other customers as well. While they are less expensive compared to Virtual Private Server (VPS) plans, there is the added risk of a security breach given the shared nature of the packages. All three plans include the same basic attributes;
- Free Domain Name
- Unlimited Storage
- Subdomains
- Monthly Data Transfers
Starter:
Regularly priced at $8.95 per month, this package includes 1GB of RAA along with a single-core CPU. This package is aimed at individuals who want to start a personal website or entrepreneurs who want to start off with the basics while staying on a budget. You can only host 1 website with this plan. But, the plan does include more than 200 scripts and apps that enhance the site.
Because you can only host one website with this plan you are not allowed any add-on domains. This can be problematic for many users. Often times once you start one website you’ll want to start more. This is what happened with me and many others I know. If you are just getting started and want to get your feet wet so-to-speak, then the Starter package may be right for your needs. However, it’s worth paying slightly more to be able to have unlimited websites hosted in my opinion.
Business:
At 9.95 per month, you get 1.5GB of RAM and 2-core CPU. In addition, you get the add-on domains and unlimited number of websites hosted. This is a definite upgrade over the Starter package and offers considerable advantages for online businesses at only one dollar more per month compared to the basic package. To me it’s a no-brainer to choose this option over the Starter plan if you’re looking at shared hosting.
Enterprise:
The fee is $16.95 per month. At seven dollars higher than the Business package, this is a considerable leap. However, you get 3GB of RAM and a 3-core CPU which offers powerful advantages. For those who have big plans that need to be achieved quickly, this is the right package for your needs. However, you can also opt to go with a smaller plan and upgrade over time when needed.
WordPress and Cloud Hosting
TMDHosting also offers WordPress and cloud hosting options as well. These two fall into a tier above the more standard shared hosting options mentioned above. The best part about each of these options is that they’re perfect for those wanting to grow in a more secure environment.
As you can see below the cloud plan pricing is slightly different with the starter and business cloud plans being higher priced. Granted, you can view both the sale and regular prices. The sale prices and percentages off can greatly change the final cost. Either of these is a wonderful option to start hosting on, and I have personally used both options for many years without any major issues.
VPS Web Hosting Services
Here, you get your own server which provides better security for your site at a higher cost. All services offer free setup, full management, cPanel/WHM, and premium support. There are five tiers to the VPS hosting services which include the following;
Starter: $39.95 per month, 40GB SSD, 2 CPU Cores, 3 TB Bandwidth, and 2GB DDR4 RAM.
The Original: $59.95 per month, 65GB SSD, 2 CPU Cores, 4 TB Bandwidth, and 4GB DDR4 RAM
Smart: $79.95 per month, 100 GB SSD, 4 CPU Cores, 5 TB Bandwidth, and 6GB DDR4 RAM
E-Commerce: 109.95 per month, 150GB SSD, 4 CPU Cores, 8 TB Bandwidth, and 8GB DDR4 RAM
Super Powerful: $129.95 per month, 200GB SSD, 6 CPU Cores, 10 TB Bandwidth, and 12GB DDR4 RAM
All VPS packages are designed to be private, meaning that your information is even more secure compared to shared servers. Plus, the SSD hard drives mean that the hardware is up to 20 times faster compared to traditional disc hard drives. In addition, the storage space is redundant thanks to the integration of RAID technology. This means that transfer rates are faster and loading time quicker for your website.
Dedicated Servers
If you are looking for the ultimate in security, then having your own server is the answer. Dedicated servers are not cheap though. In this TMD Hosting review, you will see the four packages that have dedicated servers present. All packages include free setup, premium support, unlimited bandwidth, RAID-10, full management, and cPanel/WHM as part of their services to you.

Site Speed and Uptime Tests
This TMDHosting review would not be complete without testing the site speed and overall uptime. What we did for this was test 30 days worth of site loading speeds and uptimes. We took the average of these days and here are our results.
We averaged a website load time of 869 ms per load. This is solid within the hosting industry, and perfectly fine for a normal website. There are better ones out there, but many of them cost more than TMDHosting does.
As for the uptime tests we averaged 99.47% with TMDHosting. This is solid again, but fairly average within the industry. Overall these two technical aspects are respectable.
Advantages
Variety of Packages: With six different hosting platforms and several packages in each program, you can pretty much get what you need for your hosting services. The prices range from low to quite high depending on your needs. The ability to use what platform you need is quite powerful, especially when you may not be sure of the requirements for your online efforts.
It also helps that the company offers discount plans for those who are just starting, making it easier to afford the type of plan that you need.
TMDHosting Review: Support
No TMDHosting review would be complete without covering their support.
Customer Support: Another aspect of TMDHosting which makes it a refreshing change from many of its competitors is the emphasis on excellent customer service. Contacting the company when you have an issue is quick and reliable, meaning that you can get the answers needed in a timely manner. Compare that to some other hosting platforms where getting the right support is an adventure all on its own.
In particular the live chat support on TMDHosting is amazing. Their live chat support is better than almost any other that I’ve received from a web hosting company. The only hosting company that I think is much better in terms of live chat support is SiteGround.
Technical Support: Perhaps what separates TMDHosting from its competition is the technical support that they provide. The support itself is free as part of all the packages the company offers. The goal is to assist customers to get their websites to succeed even if they have little to no technical knowledge themselves. The number of free technical services includes the following;
- Application Installation & Configuration
- Modules, Extensions, Themes, and Template Installation
- Step-by-Step Tutorials
All the knowledge that the company has built up over the years in helping individuals, entrepreneurs, and small business owners succeed is free. This means that every open source application has plenty of information that customers can access.
Disadvantages
The company itself offers plenty of exceptional features that makes it a cut-above many in the industry. However, there are still a few aspects that need addressing for TMDHosting to be considered the best. The most notable is the uptime issues which have been problematic over the past year.
While such issues are being addressed, and we saw solid uptime over the last month it’s something that you should be aware of the recent struggles of the company over uptime problems. I reached out to the company as was told that the uptime issues are being addressed. The company itself is working hard to ensure that it does not become a problem again.

TMDHosting Review: Conclusion
TMDHosting has a soft spot with me. I was with them for many years, and I really enjoyed using them as a hosting provider. Even to this day I still host some websites with them. I do think they are a great web hosting option. However, I also feel like they’re somewhere in the 2nd tier when it comes to website hosts.
